Landscaping slope design and ideas.

Landscaping slope

Erosion control in the desert varies significantly in elevation and numerous homes have slope areas. Suitable erosion control landscaping can keep slopes from sliding or eroding. Plantings on sloped areas require a specific approach to irrigation and a variety of suitable plants. Drip irrigation will be the most water efficient; it will keep weeds down by putting water only at the roots of preferred plants; it will lessen erosion from run off caused by overhead spray systems; and it can be without difficulty placed and moved on tricky slope areas. Container trees and shrubs planted on slopes must be watered using drip emitters.

Types of plants to use on slopes:

Sagebrush

jojoba

Coyote Bush

Cotoneaster

Silverberry

Pyracantha

Mexican Evening Primrose

Mexican Palo Verde

Mountain Mahogany

Banks Rose

Rosemary--the low spreading form
